Roads and infrastructure are at the core of civil engineering businesses. JCL have completed the full portfolio of minor road improvements, to major road upgrade and greenfield road construction. We also have 25 years experience in railway works. All have their own specific challenges and requirements – JCL have the experience and the personnel to meet these challenges and produce high quality end products in a safe and efficient manner
Utilities Management
All roads and infrastructure project contain substantial utilities elements – identifying and managing live services, and procurement and efficient installation of new utilities, is key to the overall success of a project. JCL have experience of installation of all types of utilities including gas, water, foul, drainage, power and communications.
Traffic Management
The design, implementation of traffic management solutions has been a key strength for many years. We have implemented TTMP on roads with AADT up to 50,000, and all of our engineering staff are qualified to CSCS Signing, Lighting & Guarding level. We can meet any vehicular and pedestrian traffic management requirement.
3rd Party Interface
JCL have standard procedures for early engagement with all third parties with a specific focus on utility providers, statutory undertakers as well as residents and road users. Clear identification of any issues at the earliest stages, along with ongoing interface, ensures that all third party requirements are met.
Cherrywood Infrastructure Phase 1 Works
JCL are the lead contractor in this joint venture, contracted to construct the initial and key infrastructure works for the 125 hectare site adjacent to the M50 motorway for Hines Ireland

Contracts Director
Alan has a degree in Civil Engineering, awarded by IT Sligo in 2000. He has substantial experience in major civil projects before joining JCL in 2010 progressing to Contracts Director in 2013. He has completed CIF/IOSH Managing Safely in Construction, and manages several projects at a time
