Site & Enabling Works

Our Enabling & Site Works Offering

Enabling and site improvement works have been a growing part of JCL's business for the last 5 years. The projects, generally but not exclusively, completed for blue chip private clients, have specific challenges that JCL are well positioned to meet. Proposing innovative changes, which deliver value to the Client, have become a cornerstone of our offering on these projects - the flagship project is a notable example. Change Control, programme management, and interface with other contractors and/or the Clients live facility have become core strengths of JCL with our expanded experience in these projects

Innovation

JCL have successfully proposed and delivered design changes which offered cost and time savings to the Client, without compromising the overall design. On the Kerry Group GTIC, JCL proposed a different foundation design for the 260,000 square foot building, utilising precast concrete piles. leading to substantial time savings for the Client.

Co-operation

These projects generally involve substantial numbers of contractors, working simultaneously on the same site with major project management teams, designers etc and often include existing live facilities. JCL always take a co-operative approach with other contractors and systems and seek to put the project as a whole first at all times.

Versatility

Large site development projects have varying system and management requirements, depending on the Client, their representatives, and the nature of the site in question. Our approach on site and our management systems are versatile and are adapted to best suit the project - both initially and on an on-going basis as the project progresses

Kerry Global Technology & Innovation Centre, Naas

JCL were the first contractor appointed by Kerry Group representatives, Gilbane, to this landmark development.  The enabling works on the 28 acre site included all foundation works for the new building     (a JCL proposed design alternative) and all access roads, car parks and utilities to service the development.  JCL were subsequently awarded the hard landscaping package and the access road upgrade and were on-site for the entire 20 months duration of the €100m project.

"We only wish we could collaborate on a regular basis.  The trust you have established with us is second to none"
