JCL fulfilled the role of Main Contractor and PSCS on this roadworks project, which involved several varying elements of construction, substantial interface with stakeholders and residents, with all works constructed in live traffic environment.
Key Features
- Full road realignment over 1200m removing on street parking and creating new bus and cycle lanes
- Construction of new 500m road through greenfield site at rear of residential area to create new vehicular accesses for residents
- 6,000m2 precast concrete paving to footpaths
- Major services installation including upgrades and remedial works to drainage network, 1200m of 300mm diameter watermain and 90 domestic connections, foul sewer installation, 8,000m of communications, power, traffic signals and public lighting ducting
- Traffic Signals works with junction upgrades and new pedestrian crossing, all tying in with existing network
- Public lighting upgrade along the length of the scheme
- Major accommodation works for 70 residents with substantially varying requirements from house to house
- 20,000m2 road surfacing
- Substantial temporary traffic management system designed, implemented and managed with AADT of 15,000
