JCL fulfilled the role of Main Contractor and PSCS on this landmark public realm project, constructed in a tight and challenging location, which delivered the architects vision exceeded the Clients expectations.
Key Features
- Demolition and excavation of the existing plaza surfacing and water feature
- Substantial traffic and pedestrian management, with major focus on liaison with local residents and businesses as the works progressed
- 6,000m2 granite paving – detailed and complex layout with 130 different stone sizes/finishes/colours –meaning that supply management was key. JCL installed the concrete base while the paving itself was installed by a specialist
- 1500m natural granite kerbs
- 1000m2 resin bound aggregate to feature areas
- Substantial service upgrade including major diversions of existing services and installation of new recessed covers and sot drainage channels
- 5,000m2 road surfacing for new road layout surrounding the main square
- New water features with major underground storage and accompanying light fittings
- Substantial quantities of high end street furniture and soft landscaping
