This project is being carried out by John Cradock Ltd for Irish Water in Kildare Town and involves substantial pipeline installation in built up urban areas, leading to particular challenges with traffic and pedestrian management

Key Features

  • 1774m of gravity sewers ranging in size from 25mm diameter to 600mm diameter precast concrete piles
  • 421m of 250mm Ductile iron rising sewer main
  • 600m of 315mm HDPE rising sewer main directionally drilled
  • Pipeline installation is being carried out primarily on live roads and traffic and pedestrian management is key, along with phasing of the works to minimise impact on the local community
  • Three major pumping stations at Nurney Road, Dunmurray Road and Curragh Road - all involving substantial temporary works during excavation and construction in reinforced concrete
  • Mechanical and electrical fit out to IW standards at each of the three new pumping stations with SCADA and telemetry tie-in with existing foul network
