JCL fulfilled the role of Main Contractor and PSCS on this important strategic watermain installation project
Key Features
- Double pipeline (400mm & 700mm) installed over 7km, with 3km on live roads and 4km through greenfield - total pipeline quantity of 14km - all installation, backfilling, testing and chlorination carried out directly by JCL
- Mahor crossing point of River Liffey, Grand Canal and Cork Dublin Railway Line - 45m long 8m deep tunnelled crossing
- Major reinforced concrete chambers throughout scheme, notably at rail crossing with 20 x 8m chambers constructed at a depth of 7m adjacent to live railway line
- Substantial raffic management and road reinstatement for on-road sections
- Substantial MEICA subcontract procured and amanged on site with focus on SCADA elements incoluding connectivity with existing network
- Tie-ins to existing live watermain network
- Liaison with landowners and local community regarding the works, and access to them was a key feature of the project
