We are currently on site delivering this landmark scheme for Iarnrod Eireann. The new DART station at Woodbrook, between Shankil and Bray, is being constructed on the live line and will be the 32nd station on the DART network when it opens in August 2025.

Key Features

The scheme has extensive technical and logistical challenges including

  • All works constructed in live rail environment with 200 trains passing through the site on a daily basis
  • Construction of 220m long platforms with feature precast retaining elements as the station is in a cutting.
  • New structural steel pedestrian and cycle bridge crossing the rail and the platforms, which has the dual purpose of providing access to the platforms, but also providing a dedicated pedestrian and cycle route over the railway, with sperate access ramps for those not using the station.
  • Adjustment of the existing OHLE lines.
  • Complete electrical fitout including integrating with Iarnrod Eireann signalling.
  • Construction at track level of precast concrete segmental shaft to take all drainage.
